I’m a wheelchair user, are there any special arrangements I need to make?

If you require assistance, please inform a member of staff when you arrive at the port, who will be happy to help you with your mobility needs. We have wheelchairs available at all of our terminals, but availability is limited to first-come, first-served, so if you require a wheelchair please contact us prior to departure to reserve one.

Is there a baggage allowance?

Passengers may take up to three items of personal luggage free of charge, which comprises of up to two large items (such as suitcases or rucksacks) and an item of hand luggage. Excess luggage and certain more bulky items may be carried subject to available space at an extra charge. Please contact the booking office for further details.

Can I get Sail N Drive packages?
Sail N Drive packages will be shortly available to book via the Severn Link website – please check the Package Details section for further details.

Can I take my dog or cat?
Yes, dogs and cats can travel free onboard our ferries. there is no need to book them.

Severn Link is unable to provide kennels or cages. All animals must be secured in a suitable container or restrained in the appropriate manner. Animals are not allowed in the passenger refreshment area (except guide dogs).
It is the animal owner’s responsibility to ensure the animal behaves in an appropriate manner and does not cause distress or inconvenience to other passengers.

Can I book tickets at any time of day?
The Severn Link online ticketing service will be available 24 hours a day to book your ticket.The telephone booking availability times are yet to be confirmed.

At what age can a child travel on their own?
Children aged 16 and over are able to travel independently on the Severn Link ferries.

What ages are classified as children for ticketing purposes?
Children aged 12 and under are eligible to travel on Severn Link on a child’s ticket.
How often does the ferry run?
The ferry will run twice a day between Ilfracombe and Swansea, every day apart from Christmas Day.

Why doesn’t the ferry run at the same times every day?
As the Bristol Channel is subject to tides, the arrival and departure times reflect the times where the water level is suitable for the ferry to sail into port.

Can I take my car, motorbike or cycle?
The Severn Link fleet is comprised exclusively of high-speed passenger only catamarans.  It is planned to add car ferries to our fleet in the future which will be able to carry cars and motorbikes as well as larger commercial vehicles.
It has now been confirmed that Severn Link ferries will be able to carry bicycles.  Bicycle carriage will need to be booked in advance at the time of ticket purchase.
